The Story

Christina Skjolberg is born and raised on the tiny island of Smøla on the northwest coast of Norway. When she entered the Norwegian blues scene over 10 years ago, there were very few other girls playing blues in Norway or elsewhere in the world. This has changed over the last years, but female, left-handed blues guitarists are still a rare breed! Add to this that Christina also boasts guitar skills on par with the best boys out there and sings with a genuine passion and intensity few can match, and you get the idea.

Christina's musical references are deeply rooted in 60s and 70s blues, funk and rock, and the same goes for the stage presence. Audience members who grew up with this music and experienced it live back then have often given feedback like "I never thought I'd get to experience this again." Christina is the real deal, and she knows how to entertain her audience!

Christina started playing at Norwegian blues clubs in 2009. In 2014 she released her debut album, "Come and get it" on German label Ruf Records, and toured Europe with Ruf ́s Bluescaravan. Between 2014-2019 there were several jobs in Germany, and she also visited both Austria and Sweden as well as some performing here at home in Norway. Extensive touring has given Christina plenty of stage experience, and Christina now appears as an experienced and thoroughbred artist and knows how to conduct both her band and the audience.

In 2022 she released her second album “I’m on Fire” The new material continues mainly in the same style as on her debut album, but with even stronger references to 70s rock, blues and funk
